Juan Bauzá Rullan Collection
This collection is made up of a large number of fossil specimens (ca. 35,000) from the Balearic Islands and other places. The fossil record of the Balearic Islands is represented in the collection —from the Carboniferous to the Quaternary— with special attention to the fossil ichthyofauna. A section of the collection is dedicated to otoliths of present-day fish for comparative studies.
The documentation includes a specialised library, with classics and old works on palaeoichthyology, various journal collections, as well as all the works published by the owner of the collection. It also contains a manual file of bibliography and fossil materials. The collection is the property of the Town Council and includes material pending revision.
