During the month of August 2008, the Museu de Ciències Naturals housed an exhibition of photos titled “PHOTOGRAPHY OF THE ENVIRONMENT” by the Biodiversity Foundation. This not-for-profit organisation is run by the Ministry of the Environment and Rural and Sea Environment of the Central Government.
This exhibition has travelled to various locations in Spain during 2007 and 2008 with the aim of fulfilling its objective of increasing environmental awareness that the Biodiversity Foundation has as its mission. It is an excellent collection of winning and finalist photos of the First Prize for Photography of the Environment organised in 2005. Through these photos it is hoped that the public will become more aware of the importance of conserving our biological richness.
